IPB Insurance is the only wholly Irish-owned insurance company in the Irish market. The company is also the only indigenous mutual insurer in the State. Providing cover for its local authority and ETB Members, IPB was founded in 1926, in the aftermath of the foundation of the State. Celebrating its 90th anniversary, IPB is now a global Top 500 mutual insurer and has grown to become one of the largest liability insurers on the island of Ireland.

In celebrating the 1916 Centenary IPB has partnered with its local authority members and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to create a public private partnership fund of €3 million. This fund will support an extensive programme of local events in every county in Ireland throughout 2016 to mark the Centenary of the Easter Rising. IPB’s history is itself directly linked to the foundation of the state and is proud to partner in the official celebrations of the 1916 Centenary.
