Different ceremonies will be held at each site according to the significance of the site in the events of 1916. Other events may be developed in conjunction with local authorities over the course of the programme.
There will be an ISL interpreter at these events.
Ashbourne, County Meath
The event includes a re-enactment of the Battle of Ashbourne which commences at 10.45am and a State ceremonial event commencing at 12.15pm to commemorate the centenary of the Battle. Two wreaths, presented by the Defence Forces, will be laid at the Monument at Rath Cross at 1.15pm. The event also includes the unveiling of a memorial plaque.
Meath County Council have organised a livestream video of the Battle of Ashbourne Commemorative Events from 11am to 3pm. This video can also be replayed after the event.
There will be an icon on the Meath County Council homepage (www.meath.ie) on Monday morning leading to the video.
Meath County Council is accepting expressions of interest from members of the public who would like to attend the State Ceremonial event. The re-enactment event is by ticket only and this is now fully booked.
Due to the layout of the location at Rath Cross, numbers are limited - standing room only. Admittance is by ticket only. The total expected duration of the event is 3 hours.

Athenry, County Galway
The State Ceremonial event will begin at 11.20am with Aeraíocht – a presentation and celebration of the cultural traditions of the county in music, song, dance and poetry. This will be followed with a parade of representatives from each of County Galway’s GAA clubs from Kenny Park to arrive at the Arch.
The formal State ceremony in Athenry Community Park includes music and poetry and culminates in a wreath laying ceremony at 1.15pm.
The event will close at approximately 1.35pm following a rendition of the National Anthem and a raising of the National Flag. There will be an Air Corps flypast (weather permitting).
A Community Programme, organised by Galway County Council, to complement the State Ceremony will follow and will include the official opening of a 1916 Commemorative Garden, a series of lectures and exhibitions and a concert drawing on the theme of Ireland 1916.
Cork City
The public are invited to assemble on the Grand Parade at 11.45am. Live music will feature performances by the Defence Forces Band, Peadar Ó Riada, Cór Chúil Aodha and Eimear Coughlan on harp.
The State Ceremonial Programme will commence at 12 noon. The programme will feature speeches by both the Lord Mayor of Cork City and the Mayor of County Cork, a reading of the Proclamation by an Officer of the Defence Forces, a wreath laying ceremony, a Minute of Silence, a Piper’s Lament, the Last Post, the Raising of the National Flag, the Reveille played by a bugler from the Defence Forces and the National Anthem played by the Defence Forces Band. At this time, there will be an Air Corps flypast (weather permitting).
Following the formal State Ceremonial event, which finishes at 1.30pm, Irish musicians will take to the stage for a short performance showcasing some of the best of Irish music.
Proceedings will close at approximately 2.30pm.
Enniscorthy, County Wexford
The Enniscorthy Ceremony commences at 11.30am with the 1916 Centenary Parade from St. Aidan’s Cathedral to the Seamus Rafter statue, Abbey Square, pausing at The Athenaeum for a raising of the Enniscorthy 1916 Battalion Flag followed by a minute’s silence. The State Commemoration Ceremony will begin at 12.30pm, with the wreath-laying at 1.15pm. The first part of the ceremony will close after the playing of the National Anthem with an Air Corps Fly Past during the closing notes of Reveille. The second part of the ceremony will feature songs specially commissioned by Wexford County Council for 2016, a reading of a commissioned poem, and a battle re-enactment. Proceedings will close at approximately 3.15pm. All ceremonies are open to the public.

Cill Dhéagláin, Contae na Mí
Tosóidh Searmanas Chill Dhéagláin ag 10.45am ag Rath Cross. Beidh athléiriú ar Chath Chill Dhéagláin agus imeacht searmanais Stáit ag 12.15pm chun céad bliain ó bhí an Cath ann a chomóradh. Leagfar dhá fhleasc, arna mbronnadh ag Óglaigh na hÉireann, ag an séadchomhartha in Rath Cross. Nochtfar plaic chuimhneacháin le linn na hócáide freisin. Tá Comhairle Chontae na Mí ag glacadh le léirithe spéise ó bhaill den phobal a mbeadh fonn orthu freastal ar ócáid chuimhneacháin Chill Dhéagláin. Mar gheall ar leagan amach an ionaid ag Rath Cross, tá na huimhreacha teoranta, agus níl ann ach spás chun seasaimh amháin. Is trí thicéad amháin a bheidh cead isteach. Déan iarratas ar ríomhphost nó téigh chuig Contae na Mí ar líne chun sonraí breise a fháil. Meastar go mairfidh an ócáid trí huaire an chloig.
Baile Átha an Rí, Contae na Gaillimhe
Cuirfear tús le Searmanas Bhaile Átha an Rí ag 11.25am le Aeraíocht – cur i láthair ceoil, amhrán, damhsa agus filíochta – agus beidh spiorad ar leith na Gaillimhe le brath ann. Ina dhiaidh sin tosóidh Paráid Phobail na Gaillimhe ina mbeidh clubanna CLG an chontae go léir páirteach. Beidh an chuid fhoirmiúil den Searmanas Stáit ann ansin, ina n-áireofar fleascleagan; ardú na Brataí Náisiúnta; an Reveille agus seinm Amhrán na bhFiann. Tá clár breise imeachtaí eagraithe ag Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe, in éineacht le heagraíochtaí pobail agus beidh siad sin ar siúl tar éis na hócáide cuimhneacháin a chríochnóidh ag 1.35pm.
Cathair Chorcaí
Tugtar cuireadh don phobal bailiú ag Sráid an Chapaill Bhuí ag 11.45am. Beidh ceol beo ar siúl le taibhithe ó Bhanna Óglaigh na hÉireann, Peadar Ó Riada agus Cór Chúil Aodha.
Tosóidh an Clár Searmanais Stáit ag 12 meán lae. Cuimseofar sa chlár óráidí ó Ard-Mhéara Chathair Chorcaí agus ó Mhéara Chontae Chorcaí; an Forógra á léamh ag Oifigeach in Óglaigh na hÉireann an Forógra; searmanas fleascleagain; nóiméad ciúnais; caoineadh píobaire; an Ghairm Dheiridh, ardú na Brataí Náisiúnta; buabhallaí ó Óglaigh na hÉireann ag seinm an Reveille agus Banna Óglaigh na hÉireann ag seinm Amhrán na bhFiann.

Inis Córthaidh, Contae Loch Garman
Tosóidh Searmanas Inis Córthaidh ag 11.30am le Mórshiúl Comórtha Céad Bliain 1916 ó Ard-Eaglais Naomh Aodhán go Dealbh Shéamuis Rafter ar Chearnóg na Mainistreach. Stopfaidh an mórshiúl ag an Athenaeum le Bratach Chathlán Inis Córthaidh in 1916 a ardú agus le nóiméad ciúnais a ghlacadh ina dhiaidh sin. Cuirfear tús leis an Searmanas Cuimhneacháin Stáit ag 12.30pm. Beidh an searmanas fleascleagain ar siúl ag 1.15pm. Críochnófar an chéad chuid den searmanas tar éis chasadh Amhrán na bhFiann agus beidh Tareitilt an Aerchóir ann le linn nótaí deiridh an Reveille. Beidh amhráin arna gcoimisiúnú go speisialta ag Comhairle Contae Loch Garman le haghaidh 2016, léamh dáin choimisiúnaithe, agus athléiriú ar chath sa dara cuid den searmanas. Cuirfear deireadh leis na imeachtaí ag thart ar 3.15pm. Beidh fáilte roimh an bpobal chuig na searmanais go léir.
